The Challenge
For bars and restaurants, the paper menu is a recurring cost: every price change or sold-out dish means reprinting, allergen declarations are a legal requirement that is hard to keep up to date, and managing table orders and requests still relies on the staff's voice and memory. What was needed was a platform that restaurant owners could configure themselves in just a few minutes, without requiring customers to install any app, and capable of growing from a simple digital menu to full table management.
The Solution
We built MenuFlow, a SaaS platform built on Laravel and Tailwind. The restaurant owner creates the menu from the back office — categories, dishes, photos, allergens, multilingual translations — and gets a QR code to place on tables: customers browse the menu from their phone, with four graphic templates, "chef's recommendation" and "new" badges, open/closed status and dishes by time slot. Each table can have a dedicated, regenerable QR code: from there customers can order, call a waiter or ask for the bill, with orders arriving in real time on the kitchen monitor (audio notification and thermal printing) and a tracking page where the customer can follow the order status. A free AI assistant allows menu prices and availability to be updated even by voice, every menu is SEO-optimised with schema.org structured data, and features are activatable modules per user from the superadmin panel. The freemium model is managed with Stripe: Checkout, Billing Portal and webhooks for automatic renewals.
